Physical Store Closing

HARBIN REPAIRS WILL BE PERMANENTLY CLOSING AFTER FRIDAY, JULY 14TH, 2023

Seven years ago Harbin Repairs originally opened in March of 2016 fixing consumer electronics from cellphones, to computers, to televisions. We appreciate all of the local support of our small business venture in Forsyth and look forward to the future of Harbin Repairs in the online space. All repair services will be immediately stopped and our public retail location will be permanently closed after July 14th, 2023, absolutely no exceptions. We know you may have some questions so we have conveniently answered most of them here.

Why are we closing and what will Harbin Repairs be doing online?

Over the past 3 years Harbin Repairs has been changing direction and has entered the business of engineering and designing specialty adapters in the field of computer equipment. Since 2020 this has been a side project that has been growing rapidly to the point of needing to decide whether the business needs to continue with our current sales and repair services or continue in the direction of research and development of these products. The decision has been made to discontinue our sales and repair services and focus primarily on developing adapters for the niche online market, since we will be operating strictly as an online business there is no need for us to have a public location for retail space.

Can I bring in my computer before the end of July 14th to get it fixed?

Yes we are still operating as normal and offering our current services until the end of July 14th, 2023.

I just made a purchase or had a device repaired, will I be able to bring it in under warranty after you permanently close?

Yes will be honoring all warranties up to 1 year after date of purchase or when the repair service was completed despite the fact that we are permanently closing. Our new location is not publicly advertised however you can give us a call and leave a message if you have a warranty claim and we will call back to schedule an appointment since we will not have normal operating hours.

What if you aren’t finished fixing my device before the 14th of July 2023?

Not to worry! If your repair is not completed before July 14th, 2023 then we will call you to make a pickup appointment when it is complete.

Do you plan on offering repair services in the future?

No, unfortunately Harbin Repairs has no plans to be offering repair services or have a public retail space in the near future.

Why are you called Harbin Repairs if you don’t repair anything?

The name Harbin Repairs will stay the same for now since our online customer base knows us by that name, there is a possibility that might change but until further notice we will be known as Harbin Repairs in the online space.

Are you selling off or liquidating any equipment, parts, etc?

Absolutely! We have a lot of parts and equipment up front in the store for sale, name your price on almost everything. Any retail computers for sale that are sold below current pricing will not come with a warranty.

Where do I go now to get my devices fixed? Can you recommend an alternative?

Since we will not be keeping up with any businesses in the area that provide those services we cannot make direct recommendations for other businesses. However we highly recommend going to maps.google.com and search for the repair service you need and check the reviews from local businesses, then make a decision based on the reputation of those local businesses to trust your device with.

But I only trust YOU with my device, I can’t possibly go to someone else.

Yes you can, there are plenty of great businesses that can help you with the same services that we provided previously, check their reputation and give them a try just like you gave us a try in the past.

Okay so what are you actually doing now?

We design adapters and other specialty electronics, more specifically we design adapters that enable the reuse of computer motherboards for different use cases. There are certain brands of computers have non-standard connectors and we design adapters that plug into those non-standard connectors and provide standardized connectors. This allows people to repurpose office computers for other uses such as building gaming PC’s, building servers, swapping the motherboards to different cases, and much more. We only sell online since this is a niche product in which most people in Forsyth are not interested and being online allows for much more diversity in sales.

Where do you sell these adapters?

store.harbinrepairs.com

If I ask you to make an adapter for anything can you do it?

Short answer, probably not. The adapters we make are determined by the demand of our customers and we specifically specialize in the DIY computer market. If there is the potential to sell thousands then we will consider it, however if there’s only a few people interested then we probably won’t. We only design adapters that lots of people need given the economy of scale, it would not make sense nor would it be economically viable to design an adapter for one person that has a very specific use case that no one else could or would want to use. All designs are executed at the will of the company.
